Sept. 7-10

We had a fun time making applesauce last Wednesday!  Check out the pictures I posted on our classroom website by clicking on "pictures" on the left side of the page. 

One more week of learning about colors and their names!  We practiced reading the popcorn words often this week and I want to thank you for practicing these flashcards at home as well.

We will be finishing up our first chapter in math and will take a test on Friday.  The concept of left and right can be tricky for kindergartners.  We've been shaking right hands frequently.  This is a tactile way for the class to understand which hand is their right hand.  We've also had fun singing the action song "Hokey Pokey." 

After watching a video and talking about bus safety, this is what the class learned:

Amanda:  Don't stand up when the bus is moving.     Evan:  Don't eat on the bus.

Luke:  No pushing on the bus.      Brycen:  No walking when the bus is moving.

Hayden:  Don't try to get a paper if it's in front of the school bus.

School pictures will be taken on Friday.  Please make sure that you send your child's picture envelope back by tomorrow.  We will take our pictures right away in the morning so if you would like your child to change clothing afterward that is fine.
