"Let my teaching fall like rain and my words descend like dew, like showers on new grass, like abundant rain on tender plants."

Deuteronomy 32:2

Oct. 14 - October 22

TOMORROW AFTERNOON (FRIDAY THE 15TH) WE WILL BE DOING OUR SERVICE PROJECT OF CLEANING THE CITY PARK. PLEASE BE SURE YOUR CHILD HAS GOOD WALKING SHOES. THEY MAY HAVE A PAIR OF WORK GLOVES IF THEY WANT.

Next week looks pretty normal!

Our memory verse for Friday, Oct. 15 is Psalm 105:1-2. The memory verse for next week, Oct. 22 is Ruth 1:16-17. Our next Bible unit on Ruth, is always a favorite!

We have two unit tests next week. Our Bible Test will be on Tuesday, the 19th, and our first Social Studies Test will be Friday the 22nd.

Next week Thursday the third grade students will begin learning the multiplication facts. We will make flash cards. I encourage you to have them take them home to practice, but they need to be in school each day! If you have flash cards at home for them to practice, that is great!

Reminders:

PE is on Tuesday and Thursday. Please be sure your child has tennis shoes on that day.

Library is on Friday again.

Please send a note or email if your child is ill or going home in a way that is different from the normal way.

Please keep your child home if you are uncertain as to whether or not they are feeling well. This will hopefully prevent the spread of any illnesses, especially COVID19.

As third and fourth graders, the students should be able to be more independent in the mastery of their memory verse and Spelling words. I do encourage you to check with them on Wednesday or Thursday evenings to be sure they do.

In addition to our Spelling Test, the students will be memorizing and writing Skip-Counting each week as well. Multiplication is a huge part of our Math and this will help them a great deal. There is a SPECIFIC PATTERN for the numbers. Please be sure they practice them in this pattern!

Please feel free to call school or email me with any questions or concerns you may have!

I am looking forward to a GREAT year!
