Welcome to SonLight Preschool

Hello & Welcome! I am so excited about being your child's preschool teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. I live in Doon, Iowa and am married Derrick Klarenbeek. Grayson, our son, joined us November 6, 2024, and Liam, our second son, joined us May 20, 2026! We are so in love with both of them! In May 2020, I graduated from Dordt University with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Early Childhood, Reading, and Coaching. This is my 6th year teaching at ICS, and I am so excited to be back! I am looking forward to having a wonderful year!

Thursday, October 1 - No School: Heartland Conference for Teachers

Monday, October 5 - Service Project: Picking up Sticks

Wednesday, October 7 - Chapel (afternoon): Please wear chapel shirts

Wednesday, October 14 - Combined Class in AM: Field Trip to Tree Farm

Thursday, October 29 - Show and Tell

Wednesday, November 11 - Combined Class in AM: Veterans Day Program

Thursday, November 19 - Pastries with Parents

Library - Library books are due every Wednesday! We go to the Library on Thursdays.

Engagement - Please talk to your child about school. Ask them questions such as: What was your favorite song you sang today? What did you have for snack? What book did you read as a class today? What did you learn in Bible today?

Reading - Please read with your child every day! Reading is so important at this age! 

Weather - If Inwood Christian School has a late start, there will be NO morning preschool. If Inwood Christian School has an early out, there will be no afternoon preschool. 

 Breakfast is from 8:00am to 8:15am
